| "House of the Rising Sun" or "The House of the Rising Sun" is a single and track from the 1964 album, "The Animals (US version)", by The Animals. The album was released in the UK on Columbia and in the US on MGM. The albums have little in common in content, the tracks differ substantially. The US version includes the band's biggest hit single, "House of the Rising Sun, while the UK version does not. Both albums were produced by Mickie Most. "The House of the Rising Sun" is a traditional American folk song. Animals band keyboardist Alan Price arranged the song for the group and the result was a #1 hit in the US and the UK and one of the stand out hits of the 1960s. This video version is from the Animals' 18 October 1964 appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. The band also played "I'm Crying" as their opening number.
